Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have named replacement players for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026 following injury setbacks to key squad members.
Chennai Super Kings have signed Kuldip Yadav as a replacement for injured pacer Khaleel Ahmed. The left-arm medium pacer joins the franchise for INR 30 lakh.
Kuldip previously made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and has featured in three matches in the season.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed English fast bowler Richard Gleeson as a replacement for Nuwan Thushara after the Sri Lankan pacer was unavailable for the remainder of the tournament. Gleeson has joined the Bengaluru franchise for INR 1.6 crore.
The 38-year-old seamer has represented England in six T20Is, claiming nine wickets.
Gleeson also has previous IPL experience, having represented Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He played two matches for CSK and one match for Mumbai Indians during that period.
Although Thushara had initially signed to take part in the season, Sri Lanka Cricket Board did not grant him the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) after he failed to meet the board’s mandatory fitness standards.
