Franchises Confirm Direct Signings Ahead of LPL 2026 Player Draft

The franchises competing in the Lanka Premier League 2026 have officially announced their direct player signings ahead of the upcoming player draft scheduled for June 1.

Several leading local and overseas cricketers have already secured places in the tournament through direct signings as teams begin finalising their squads for the new season.

Dambulla Sixers have signed Sahibzada Farhan, Dinesh Chandimal, Reeza Hendricks and Dushmantha Chameera.

Kandy Royals have secured the services of Wanindu Hasaranga, Moeen Ali and Angelo Mathews.

Galle Gallants confirmed the signings of Dasun Shanaka and Eshan Malinga.

Meanwhile, defending champions Jaffna Kings have added Dunith Wellalage, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Shakib Al Hasan to their squad.

Colombo Kaps have so far announced the signings of Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis.

The remaining squad members are expected to be selected during the official LPL 2026 player draft.

The upcoming edition of the tournament is scheduled to be played from July 17 to August 8 across four venues — Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

The tournament opener will feature defending champions Jaffna Kings against 2024 runners-up Galle Gallants at the SSC Grounds in Colombo on July 17.
