Sarah Taylor Set for Historic Coaching Role with England Men’s Team

Date:

Former England women’s wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor has been appointed as the fielding coach for England’s men’s Test squad ahead of the upcoming series against New Zealand.

Taylor, who has worked closely with Andrew Flintoff during the England Lions’ winter programme, will take up the role on a short-term basis.

The appointment comes as current fielding coach Carl Hopkinson is involved with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

England men’s managing director Rob Key confirmed Taylor’s appointment following the announcement of the squad for the first Test against New Zealand at Lord’s.

Taylor, regarded as one of the finest wicketkeepers in women’s cricket, continues to break new ground in coaching roles within the men’s game. The former England star is set to turn 37 next week.
