Former India head coach and captain Rahul Dravid has been announced as the owner of the Dublin-based franchise in the upcoming European T20 Premier League (ETPL).
The franchise will compete under the name Dublin Guardians as the tournament prepares for its inaugural season in August.
The announcement was made in Dublin on Monday, with Abhishek Bachchan, one of the promoters of the league, also attending the event alongside Dravid.
The ETPL is being launched in partnership with Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and Royal Dutch Cricket Association.
Tournament organisers have introduced a cross-border franchise model featuring six teams representing Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
The league is also expected to attract several leading international cricketers, including Mitchell Marsh, Tim David, Mitchell Santner, Liam Livingstone, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis and Heinrich Klaasen.
