Capitals Keep Playoff Hopes Alive With Win Over Kings

Delhi Capitals kept their playoff hopes alive in the IPL 2026 after securing a three-wicket victory over Punjab Kings in the 55th match of the tournament.

Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka did not feature in the match played in Dharamsala.

Batting first, Punjab Kings posted 210 for five in their allotted overs. Captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 59 runs from 36 deliveries, while Priyansh Arya contributed 56 runs off 33 balls.

For Delhi Capitals, Mitchell Starc and Madhav Tiwari claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Delhi Capitals successfully chased down the target in 19 overs, finishing on 211 for seven. Captain Axar Patel led the run chase with a quickfire 56 runs from 30 balls, while David Miller added 51 runs off 28 deliveries. Arshdeep Singh and Yash Thakur picked up two wickets each for Punjab Kings.
