A high-level delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC), including a senior official linked to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is expected to visit Sri Lanka following the government’s recent decision to appoint an interim committee (Restructuring Committee) to oversee Sri Lanka Cricket.
According to a report published by Press Trust of India, ICC deputy chairman Imran Khwaja is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on Friday night.
The report further stated that another ICC official, who is also a senior figure within the BCCI, is expected to arrive on Saturday.
The development comes after Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage appointed a nine-member interim committee on April 29 to manage Sri Lanka Cricket.
The Restructuring Committee was formed following the resignation of SLC president Shammi Silva and the board’s executive committee.
